Complete Morocco

After breakfast, we'll head to Rabat, where we'll visit its main monuments: the Oudaias Kasbah, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Hassan Tower. After some free time to stroll through the city, we'll head to Chefchaouen, where we'll spend the night. This city is located in the only intercontinental natural park declared a biosphere reserve in Morocco. It's a mountainside village painted white and blue, populated by wise, kind, and respectful people. It offers visitors beautiful urban landscapes, precious examples of local crafts, and a peace and serenity that are hard to find these days.

After breakfast, we'll spend a full day exploring Chefchaouen, a mountain village in the heart of the Rif, known for its Andalusian architecture of whitewashed houses in white and indigo. We'll visit the medina to learn about its historical and cultural heritage, and enjoy its light, its streets, its picturesque Uta Square, the Hammam, the Rass-el Maa Waterfall, and of course, the colorful streets filled with handicrafts. It's worth sipping mint tea on a café terrace, watching the people come and go in a relaxed way, or wandering through the medina and chatting with the locals or playing with the children... there are so many options!

After breakfast, we'll leave the rich world of Chefchaouen and head toward Fez, the first of the imperial cities and proud home to one of the oldest universities in the world. Along the way, we'll visit the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis. We'll also enjoy a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, the holy city where we'll have lunch. In the afternoon, we'll arrive in Fez to enjoy the sunset while visiting the walls and gates of the medina, or simply sip welcome tea from our hotel's terrace overlooking the medina.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we'll begin our guided tour of the new part of Fez, visiting the Royal Palace and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). Then, we'll head to a viewpoint where we can observe the entire medina from the South Tower and the numerous mosques. We'll then walk through the medina, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its labyrinthine streets structured by guilds of potters, dyers, and other crafts. The bustle of its people will transport us back centuries. We'll notice that this is a medieval city, and that time has stopped on the "La Magana Bounania" clock 1,200 years after it was built. A marvel!

After breakfast, we'll head south across the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach Ifrane, also known as "Little Moroccan Switzerland" due to its strong resemblance to that country. One of the animals that once lived here was the Atlas lion, which has become the symbol of the city and has a stone statue dedicated to it in the center. We'll take the opportunity to stop and "greet" the great lion. We'll then cross the famous cedar forests and admire the Great Gouraud Cedar, the largest ancient cedar in the region, and also feed the hundreds of Gibraltar monkeys that inhabit the area. We'll have lunch in Midélt, and from here, the land will become more arid and filled with spectacular geological formations and deep green valleys, such as the Ziz Valley. We'll begin to see typical adobe architecture, palm trees, and some distant kasbahs, which will mean we're at the edge of the desert. An hour after Erfoud, we'll arrive at the impressive Merzouga Dunes. After a Hospitality Tea, we'll leave our bags in our rooms and climb the first dunes next to the hotel to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

After breakfast, we'll head out towards the outskirts of Erg Chebbi and head for the SafSaf Oasis, very close to the Algerian border (approximately 30 km). Along the way, we'll stop as often as you wish to admire the wonderful landscape we'll pass through. We'll pause to visit a nomadic family with whom we'll share a traditional tea under the comforting shade of a Berber tent. We'll then continue to our destination, the SafSaf Oasis. This spectacular spot, nestled between uninhabited high hills, features a wild palm grove with lush vegetation, crossed by a river of the same name (SafSaf), where swimming is possible. It's in this idyllic setting that we'll have lunch, and at sunset, we'll return to the hotel at the foot of the desert.

After a hearty breakfast, we'll enjoy another full day in the desert. We'll circle the Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sandy desert home to the Great Dune of Morocco, over 250 meters high. We'll connect by track with part of the old Paris-Dakar route, with the mountains bordering Algeria in the background. We'll stop at the Tissardmin oasis where we can admire the fossils still found in this region and continue on to a nomadic settlement where we'll learn some of the secrets of their way of life and customs. We'll then stop at a panoramic point where we can admire the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We'll then arrive at the village of Khamlia, formed by former slaves originally from Mali, where we'll relax with tea while enjoying a short concert of traditional Gnawa spiritual music. We'll then return to the hotel to depart in a caravan of camels, deep into the dunes and enjoy an unforgettable sunset. We'll arrive at the camp where we'll stay in haimas, tents made of camel hair, similar to those used by desert nomads. Tonight, we'll enjoy dinner in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars, accompanied by drumming and Berber music lit by a bonfire.

We wake up early for our "Date with the Dawn," as being in the desert, it's advisable to get up early to hike to the highest dune in the area to contemplate the sunrise and enjoy the relaxing landscape that nature offers before returning by camel to our hotel. After a hearty breakfast, we bid farewell to the desert and depart for Rissani, where we'll visit its market (if we're lucky, it's one of the market days: Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday). We'll continue on to Erfoud and the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. An hour later, we'll arrive at one of the highlights of the High Atlas: the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it's a climber's paradise and a unique place. We'll have lunch here and then take a half-hour hike to see and enjoy the gorges in detail. In the afternoon, we will continue towards the Dadès Valley, also known as the Valley of Figs, passing through Boumalne Dadès where we will stop to observe the "monkey fingers" until we reach the Dadès Gorges.

After breakfast, we'll enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley from one of the most strategic locations the mountains offer. From there, we'll observe the numerous kasbahs and the picturesqueness of each one. We'll then continue along a road dotted with interesting kasbahs until we reach the Kasbah of Aït Youl, where we'll make a detour and head along trails deep into the Central High Atlas to discover spectacular landscapes. We'll visit a nomadic family who still lives in caves in the Boutagrar Valley, where time seems to have stood still. We'll have lunch in the village of Rose Valley, and in the afternoon, we'll pass through the Skoura palm grove until we reach Ouarzazate.

After breakfast, we will dedicate the morning to a visit to Ouarzazate: the Taourirt Kasbah and the film studios. We will then depart for the Fortified City of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Renowned films such as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz, and Jewel of the Nile have been filmed in this spectacular setting. We will have lunch in this magnificent place and continue to Marrakech, passing through the highest pass of Tizi N'Tichka. We will visit an argan oil cooperative where we will learn about the production process and the countless benefits it offers for the body. Around 6:00 p.m., we will arrive in Marrakech and have free time to explore the famous Jamaa el-Fnaa Square.

On this day, you'll have time to relax, wander freely through the city, practice the art of haggling in the souks, and discover the most hidden corners of the medina wherever your curiosity takes you.

After breakfast, our local city guide will pick you up at your hotel to begin your grand tour of the Marrakech medina. You will discover the most interesting and significant sites in Marrakech, such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Majorell Gardens, and more. In the afternoon, you will have time to rest and head out to Jamaa el Fna Square for a stroll and to enjoy the magic of this iconic place at night.

After breakfast, we will depart from Marrakech for the port city of Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador. Essaouira has witnessed the passage of numerous peoples, from the Romans to the Portuguese, not forgetting the Arabs and Berbers. Due to this history, it preserves countless vestiges of these cultures, whether in the form of monuments or in the customs of its people. We will admire its Medina and the 18th-century Portuguese fortifications, and we will have time to enjoy a relaxing stroll or a swim at the beach.

After breakfast, we'll head toward Casablanca along the coast, enjoying the scenery of beautiful, unspoiled beaches until we reach the village of Jadida, where we'll have lunch before continuing to Casablanca.
