Tour Plan
Pickup at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Free city tour. Overnight in Marrakech.
Departure for Ouarzazate. We will cross the Atlas Mountains, passing through the highest point in the country, known as the Tichka Pass. We will make several stops in typical Berber villages and panoramic viewpoints, as well as at an argan oil cooperative. Argan is a local product, and we will learn about its production process and numerous benefits. At midday, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, the Mecca of Moroccan cinema. We will visit the Kasbah of Tarourit, the former residence of the Pasha of Marrakech and one of the best-preserved in Morocco. We will also take the opportunity to see the film museum, showcasing the films shot in the area. We will pass through the Dades Valley, visiting the so-called "monkey's fingers," a rock formation that has taken on unusual shapes. We will spend the night in the Dades Valley.
Departure for Merzouga, passing through the Todra Gorge, where we can enjoy a beautiful walk following the course of the river, observing its small waterfalls. This is a popular area for climbers seeking new sensations. We will pass through the Tinghir palm grove, where we can see the impressive contrast between its lush vegetation and the arid surrounding landscape, until we reach the city of Erfoud, a paradise for fossil hunters, as the area was once covered by water. It is also known for the discovery of several dinosaur bones. From Erfoud, we will head to Merzouga, in the desert. Overnight stay in a hotel overlooking the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Visit the Merzouga oasis and the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawas (descendants of slaves from Black Africa), where we can enjoy their unique music. We will then cross a river of sand and enjoy a panoramic view from a mountain overlooking the desert in all its splendor. We will continue to the village of Mefis, where there was once a settlement of French workers in the khol mines, now abandoned. We will visit a nomadic family in the middle of the dunes and enjoy their company over tea. We will return to the hotel for lunch, and at sunset, we will depart on camels for about an hour to spend the night in a Berber tent camp within the dunes.
Return to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Departure for Ouarzazate. Stop in Rissani to visit the local market. It was once a very important city due to its location connecting the north and south, through which numerous caravans passed. We will then pass through the Draa Valley, one of the largest in Morocco, home to numerous kasbahs that served to defend the region. We will be able to stroll through its palm grove on several occasions and appreciate the change in temperature that occurs as we enter. We will have lunch in Agdz, where we will visit the Tamnougalt kasbah, until we reach Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night.
We'll wake up in Moroccan Hollywood and visit the film studios where movies like Gladiator and Babel have been filmed . We'll head back to Marrakech, stopping at the Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where films like The Mummy and Kingdom of Heaven have also been filmed . It was once a stopping place for caravans, allowing travelers to swap camels for horses and cross the mountains. We'll then continue along winding roads, stopping at panoramic views, back to Marrakech.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
